The Franchise QBs: Final rankings of the top signal-callers in Panthers history

We've identified the top all-time quarterbacks for every NFL team and asked our NFL Nation beat reporters -- and you, the fans -- to help us determine each signal-caller's place in franchise history.

What follows is the final ranking of the top quarterbacks in Carolina Panthers history, both from our NFL Nation reporter and our final fan polling.

NFL Nation ranking:

1. Cam Newton

2. Jake Delhomme

3. Steve Beuerlein

4. Kerry Collins

5. Chris Weinke

Thank goodness this list didn't go six deep. Jimmy Clausen or Matt Moore might have made it simply because the team history is so short. Newton easily is the top pick even though he's won two fewer games (51) than Delhomme with two more starts. But Newton was the Offensive Rookie of the Year in 2011, the MVP in 2015 and he's a three-time Pro Bowl selection. Delhomme only made the Pro Bowl once (2005), but like Newton, he did take the Panthers to the Super Bowl. He actually came closer to winning the title game during the 2003 season than Newton did in 2015. That Weinke made this list with two wins in 19 starts pretty much tells the story here. -- David Newton
