Impressive OL from TCU Nike camp

The strength of the Nike Camp at TCU may have been the offensive linemen. There were several impressive performances turned in, especially OL MVP Evan Washington.

The 6-foot-5, 286-pounder from DeSoto (Texas) has a great frame and moves well. He plays with a mean streak at times but sometimes needed to be pushed for his aggressive side to come out. He was dominant in the one on ones and took a ton of reps, not backing down from anyone. Washington has a great punch and is so strong, he was able to put guys on their back without even trying.

He said he's still open among offers from schools like Miami, Oklahoma, LSU, Cal, Washington, Wisconsin and Texas A&M.

Right there with Washington in terms of upside was Luke Joeckel, who recently committed Texas A&M. The 6-6, 280-pounder from Arlington (Texas) recently committed has a similar frame to Washington, but may have been even more athletic. He's in great shape, was very coachable and is a fierce competitor.

One player who had an excellent camp, but is flying below the radar is Paul Ives. The 6-1, 272-pounder from North Garland (Texas) had a great showing in the one on ones. He showed great and aggressiveness and does a nice job finishing his blocks.

No one took more reps in the one on ones than Ives and he held his ground on almost every one of them. Ives plays with a mean streak and is definitely someone worth watching this fall.

Oklahoma-commit Tyrus Thompson out of Pflugerville (Texas) had a strong camp and moves around very well for a big man. At 6-5, 280 pounds, Thompson showed a great kick to keep up with the faster rush ends in the one on ones. Thompson is a great kid who is very coachable and listens to instructions well. He's a natural athlete and finishes his blocks well.
