BOSTON -- A team official on Friday confirmed a report in a Slovakian newspaper that the Bruins are close to signing free agent winger Miroslav Satan to a contract, and that it could happen in the next few days.
The 35-year-old Satan last played in the NHL last season with Pittsburgh, scoring 17 goals in 65 games. He has 354 NHL goals to his credit and could provide needed scoring and speed to a Bruins team that ranks near the bottom of the NHL in goals per game.
