Manchester United comfortably overcame Wolverhampton Wanderers with a 4-1 away win that saw Ruben Amorim's team rise to sixth in the Premier League table.

Bruno Fernandes United gave United the lead in the 25th minute with a scrappy goal -- assisted by the returning Matheus Cunha -- that incensed the already frustrated home supporters. But Jean-Ricner Bellegarde turned those jeers to cheers as he brought Wolves level on the stroke of half-time.

Bryan Mbeumo wasted little time in restoring United's lead after the break as he rolled Diogo Dalot's square pass into an empty net and Mason Mount made sure of the points with a precise volley near the hour mark. Fernandes added a fourth from the spot after the VAR spotted a handball in the box.

Monday's game featured the return of Cunha to Molineux. The attacker, who joined United in a £62.5 million move in the summer, opened his United account during United's 4-2 win over Brighton in October.

Wolves are enduring a dismal campaign. They are still without a win this season and have scored one goal in the Premier League since Oct. 26.

Amorim's side have put their early-season woes behind them but are still struggling for consistency -- United couldn't find a way past West Ham United at Old Trafford on Thursday as they were forced to settle for a point.

Wolves replaced Vitor Pereira with Rob Edwards in a bid to turn their season around but he is still searching for his first points since returning to the club he represented as a player.
