Randy Wells hurled seven shutout innings, struck out 10 and allowed only three hits in the Cubs' 5-0 shutout win over the Diamondbacks Saturday afternoon. Only two other Cubs rookies since 1900 have allowed no runs on three or fewer hits while registering at least 10 strikeouts in a game: Kerry Wood on May 6, 1998 (20 strikeouts, one hit and no runs allowed) and Rich Hill on September 16, 2006 (10 strikeouts, two hits and no runs allowed).
