BALTIMORE -- Texas outfielder Josh Hamilton missed the Rangers' victory Friday in Baltimore, staying behind to rest a sore back caused by a pinched nerve.
Hamilton did not fly with the team to Baltimore, and it was uncertain if he would join the team over the weekend.
"Hopefully, (Saturday) he'll feel comfortable enough to get back on the plane and we'll be able to get him back in there," Rangers manager Ron Washington said. "If there is any way Josh can play when he gets here, he'll play."
Hamilton left Wednesday's game against Toronto in the fourth inning, complaining of lower back pain. He was given a shot Thursday to reduce inflammation, but it takes 24-48 hours to take effect.
Texas, still in the hunt for a wild-card berth, used an outfield of David Murphy, Marlon Byrd and Nelson Cruz against the Orioles.
