Barcelona v Atlético
Olmo, Raphinha, help Barcelona to win over Atlético Madrid
Barcelona moved four points clear of Real Madrid at the top of the LaLiga table after hitting back from a goal down to beat Atlético Madrid at the Nou Camp.
Atlético had been on a seven-match winning streak in all competitions while their last league loss was on Aug. 17, and they went ahead early on thanks to Álex Baena beating Barça's offside trap to score.
Raphinha soon levelled and while Robert Lewandowski was off target from the penalty spot, second-half goals from Dani Olmo and substitute Ferran Torres secured a hard-fought victory for Barcelona.
Olmo's 65th-minute strike might have come at a cost, however, as he seemed to injure his left arm in his follow through and he went off the field clutching his shoulder in pain as he was substituted.
For now, Barcelona can celebrate putting some breathing room between themselves and rivals Real, who can narrow the gap back to one point if they win at Athletic Bilbao on Wednesday night.
Their crosstown rivals Atlético ended an 18-year wait for an away win in the league against Barcelona 12 months ago and they struck first after 18 minutes on this occasion when Baena beat a high defensive line to score.
Baena latched on to Nahuel Molina's through-ball to race through on goal before gently lifting over Joan García and while the offside flag went up, the decision was overturned on VAR.
But Barcelona, who who had won their previous four matches in the league, drew level eight minutes later when Pedri teed up Raphinha to go round Jan Oblak and slot into an empty net.
It almost got better for the hosts when Pablo Barrios upended Olmo in the area but Lewandowski skied the resulting penalty kick before his close-range header moments later was saved by Oblak.
Lewandowski fluffed his lines again at the beginning of the second half, although it was his pass that freed Olmo in the area and the Spain midfielder made no mistake with a low left-foot finish past Oblak.
Olmo, though, seemed to land awkwardly on his shoulder after scoring and trudged off in agony with a towel under his left arm as he and Lewandowski made way, replaced by Torres and Marcus Rashford.
Thiago Almada spurned a gilt-edged opportunity after being put through and cutting on to his right foot although he seemed to be off balance before directing a shot wide after finally getting into position.
And Torres made sure there would be no way back for Atlético, slotting in from close range after being left unmarked from Alex Balde's low cross.
