LONDON -- Manchester United clinched its third consecutive English Premier League title on Saturday while Inter Milan won its fourth straight Serie A title in Italy and Barcelona earned La Liga's championship in Spain for the first time in three years.
Saturday's results left only Germany and France undecided among the five major European leagues.
Manchester United matched Liverpool's mark of 18 league championships with a 0-0 tie Saturday against visiting Arsenal.
In a poorly played game between two of England's glamour clubs, United won their 11th league title in 17 seasons. All came under manager Alex Ferguson, who has major 25 trophies in his 23 years at Old Trafford.
"It makes you want to go on for ever," said the 67-year-old Ferguson, who already has put off retirement once.
Amid the celebrations, Argentina striker Carlos Tevez appeared to wave farewell to the fans in his last home game with his loan deal two weeks from ending. More than a thousand United fans converged on the directors' exit and players' tunnel, demanding that the team keep him.
"It's emotional. I like Manchester, and I like the fans," Tevez said. Asked if he wanted to stay at the club, he said: "It's very difficult."
West Brom, meanwhile, will try to stay alive. It will be relegated if it loses at home to Liverpool on Sunday.
Middlesbrough has little chance of survival after it threw away a lead and was held to a 1-1 draw at home by Aston Villa. Newcastle slipped back into the relegation zone after a 1-0 defeat at home to Fulham. Hull moved out of the zone with a 1-1 draw at Bolton. The final round of games is May 24.
Hull has 35 points, Newcastle 34, Middlesbrough 32 and West Brom 31, with three teams to go down. Sunderland, which visits Portsmouth on Monday, is not out of danger with 36 points.

MADRID -- Barcelona clinched La Liga when Real Madrid lost 3-2 at Villarreal. Barcelona has 86 points with three games left. Madrid has 78 with two to play.
This was the 19th Spanish league title for Barcelona, which completed its first domestic double in 11 years. The team won the Copa del Rey last Wednesday.
Next up for Barcelona is Premier League champ Manchester United in the Champions League final May 27. It is trying to become the first Spanish team to win the three trophies in one season.
"The league is the fairest competition and a test of consistency and I think Barcelona deserved to win it," Madrid coach Juande Ramos said.
Barcelona, which plays at Mallorca on Sunday, has 86 points with three games left, while Madrid has 78 with two to play.
The 19th title in Barcelona's history was a triumph for 38-year-old coach Pep Guardiola, the club's former midfielder who was in his first season in charge.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta told the club's TV station that "reality had exceeded expectations."
"In footballing terms, it is one of the best seasons in Barcelona's history, in terms of play, titles and the general state of the club," Laporta said.
"There are now five doubles in the history of the club and it's something which is marvelous and fabulous, an excellent moment for people to enjoy quietly and calmly," Laporta added.
Over 40,000 Barcelona supporters gathered to celebrate at Canaletes fountain on Las Ramblas, the traditional site for celebrating the club's wins, news agency Europa Press said. Some lit fireworks waved flags and scarves, and drank from bottles of cava.

MILAN -- Inter Milan clinched its 17th Serie A title when AC Milan lost 2-1 to Udinese. Going into the match, AC Milan needed to win, but knew Inter could still take the title if it won its match with Siena on Sunday night.
The result left AC Milan with 71 points, seven behind its cross-city rival with two matches remaining following this weekend.
Gaetano D'Agostino opened the scoring with a penalty in the first half after Antonio Floro Flores was brought down by Paolo Maldini.
Cristian Zapata doubled Udinese's lead two minutes into the second half to settle the tie.
Milan threw men forward, but Massimo Ambrosini's header came to late to have any effect.
Inter Milan became the first club in more than 50 years to win four successive Serie A titles.
The Serie A title was its 17th overall, and it became only the third club in the 111-year history of the competition to win four straight after Juventus won five in a row from 1931-35 and Torino won five consecutive in 1943 and 1946-49.

FRANKFURT -- Wolfsburg outplayed Hannover 5-0 behind three goals from Edin Dzeko and two from Grafite to move within a point of winning its first Bundesliga title.
Wolfsburg takes a two-point lead into the final round over defending champion Bayern Munich and Stuttgart, who meet in Munich next weekend.
But Wolfsburg has a far superior goal difference than Bayern or Stuttgart, and Felix Magath's team will clinch the title with a draw at home against Werder Bremen.

GLASGOW, Scotland -- Rangers scored two goals in two minutes to beat Aberdeen 2-1 and put more pressure on defending champion Celtic in the Scottish Premier League title race.
After both teams had a player sent off in the first half, an own-goal by Aberdeen's Richard Foster in the 66th and a 69th-minute header by Kenny Miller put Rangers in control at Ibrox Park. Michael Paton replied for Aberdeen in the 77th minute.
Rangers hold a three-point advantage over Celtic, which visits Hibernian on Sunday.

PARIS -- Bordeaux earned the provisional lead in the French league when it beat Le Mans 3-2 for a 10th straight win on Saturday.
The win improved Bordeaux to 74 points from 36 rounds, but Marseille will reclaim top spot on goal difference if it beats seven-time defending champion Lyon at Stade Velodrome on Sunday. Lyon will be eliminated from defending its title if it loses.
Lyon was in third place and focused on securing the spot to ensure a place in the Champions League qualifying round ahead of fourth-place Paris Saint-Germain, which lost 2-1 at home to Auxerre at Parc des Princes.
In other results, it was: Caen 2, Sochaux 0; Grenoble 0, Nancy 0; Saint-Etienne 2, Toulouse 2; Lorient 1, Le Havre 1; and Monaco 1, Valenciennes 1.

AMSTERDAM -- NAC Breda beat Feyenoord 3-2 in the Dutch league playoffs for next season's UEFA Cup.
Rob Penders, Donny Gorter and Matthew Amoah got the goals for NAC while veteran forwards Roy Makaay and Jon Dahl Tomasson replied for Feyenoord with two second half penalties.
Tim Cornelisse, Leroy George and Morten Skoubo were on target for FC Utrecht in the 3-3 draw against FC Groningen. Sweden striker Marcus Berg scored a hattrick for Groningen.
The return legs will be played on Thursday.
Ajax, PSV Eindhoven and SC Heerenveen have already secured berths in the competition, which will be rebranded as the Europa League next season, by finishing behind champions AZ Alkmaar and second-place FC Twente. AZ and Twente will compete in the Champions League.
