Stars 3, Flames 1

CALGARY, Alberta -- Rookie Jamie Benn scored the go-ahead goal early in the third period, and Marty Turco made 33 saves in the Dallas Stars' 3-1 victory over the Calgary Flames on Thursday night.

Mike Ribeiro scored twice for Dallas, tying it at 1 with a power-play goal late in the second and icing it with an empty-netter directly off a faceoff.

Dallas won the season series 3-0-1 and improved to 5-2-1 in its last eight.

Jarome Iginla was credited with his 25th goal for Calgary.

The Calgary captain lost control of the puck as he attempted to carry it to the front of the net. However, as it bounced through the slot, Stars forward Brenden Morrow attempted to clear the puck and inadvertently fired it into his own net.

Morrow rebounded by helping set up the tying and go-ahead goals.

Ribeiro put himself on the highlight reels with 5 minutes left in the second, tucking his stick through his legs and firing the puck toward the Calgary net with it banking in off the pad of sprawled goalie Miikka Kiprusoff.

Dallas took the lead 3 minutes into the third period. From the corner, Morrow threaded a pass to Benn darting through the slot. Benn quickly fired a wrist shot into the open side before Kiprusoff could slide across. The 20-year-old Benn is fourth among NHL rookies with 14 goals.

NPTES: Calgary is 2-6-1 in its last nine home games. Neither of Dallas' recent acquisitions -- goalie Kari Lehtonen (trade with Atlanta) and right wing Brandon Segal (claimed off waivers from Los Angeles) were in uniform.
