OMAHA, Neb. -- On their off day Monday, the North Carolina baseball team toured Offutt Air Force Base. It was a casual break to help take the sting off of Sunday's 10th-inning loss to Arizona State. On Tuesday, things get far more serious for the Tar Heels.
They face elimination in a 2 p.m. ET game against Southern Mississippi (ESPN2/ESPN360) and hope to avoid becoming the second nationally seeded team to be ousted by an Omaha newbie. No. 4 Carolina is playing one day after No. 2 Cal State Fullerton was eliminated by Virginia.
