Bush's recruitment picking up

Defensive end Dartwan Bush (Clute, Texas/Brazoswood) is one of the rising seniors in a state that produces several late bloomers each year. The 6-foot-1, 245-pounder with 4.7 speed and a wing span closing in on 6-9, is becoming a hot commodity. After entertaining offers from Houston, UTEP, North Texas, New Mexico and Iowa State for a few months, it now appears that three more programs are going to enter the race.

Baylor calls Bush weekly, Missouri stopped by Brazoswood two weeks ago and Arkansas was in attendance to watch him Friday night. Recording 6.5 sacks in the first five games of the season hasn't hurt either. Bush leads the team in tackles for loss as well as sacks. He is being recruited as an end and defensive tackle.

Hines has Big 12 offers

Linebacker Earl Hines (Port Arthur, Texas/Memorial High) has five offers on the table he is considering. The 6-2, 205-pound downhill outside linebacker is considering offers from Texas Tech, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Iowa State and Houston. Oklahoma is still recruiting him as well.

Memorial head coach Kenny Harrison has high praise for his star defender.

"Earl is playing incredible," Harrison said. "He's the best defensive player we have had here in my time. He was awesome against The Woodlands last week."

The three-star prospect won't set up official visits until after the season. An offer from Oklahoma would make the Sooners the team to beat.

Cedar Hill safety on the move

Safety Elisha Olabode (Dallas/Cedar Hill) is one of the top uncommitted defenders in the state. The 5-10, 175-pound safety/kick returner has 11 offers with another possible.

Texas A&M could be the latest to offer the three-star safety following Kansas, Missouri, Kansas State, Iowa State, Wisconsin, Arizona, Nebraska, Minnesota, Tulsa, SMU and UNLV.

Olabode hasn't set up any official visits to this point and is wide open.
