ATLANTA -- No. 9 Duke swamped Florida State with a barrage of 3-pointers in a 79-69 victory over No. 22 Florida State in the Atlantic Coast Conference title game Sunday, giving the Blue Devils their ninth tournament crown in 12 years.
MVP Jon Scheyer scored 29 points, Gerald Henderson had 27 for the Blue Devils (28-6).
Duke had more steals (five) than turnovers (four), outrebounded the Seminoles 35-34 and finished 12-of-25 from beyond the arc.
Toney Douglas had 28 points for the Seminoles (25-9), who beat top-ranked North Carolina in the semifinals and were looking for their first ACC championship.
Duke's Mike Krzyzewski, following up his gold-medal triumph as coach of the U.S. Olympic team, captured the 11th conference championship of his career.
No. 24 Purdue 65, Ohio St. 61
INDIANAPOLIS -- E'Twaun Moore scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half, and No. 24 Purdue rallied to beat Ohio State 65-61 for its first Big Ten tournament title.
JaJuan Johnson scored 16 points, and Robbie Hummel added nine points, 11 rebounds and five assists for the Boilermakers (24-9). Hummel was named the tournament's most outstanding player.
Evan Turner had 22 points and 10 rebounds for Ohio State (22-10). Jon Diebler and William Buford each added 15 points for the Buckeyes, who were was chasing their second title in three years. The loss snapped the Buckeyes' four-game winning streak.
