Cal Poly-SLO 75, Cal St.-Fullerton 72

FULLERTON, Calif. -- Lorenzo Keeler scored a career-high 29 points as Cal Poly rallied for a 75-72 victory over Cal State Fullerton on Saturday night.

Titus Shelton added 16 points and 12 rebounds for the Mustangs (6-14, 3-7 Big West), who have won three of their last five games. Shawn Lewis contributed 15 points.

Josh Akognon scored 29 points for the Titans (12-11, 6-5), whose four-game winning streak ended. Ray Miller added 12 points and Gerard Anderson had nine rebounds.

Cal Poly, which once trailed by 10 points, held a 73-68 lead with 2:41 to play. But Shelton intentionally fouled Akognon, who made both free throws, then Marcio Lassiter made a jumper to narrow Fullerton's deficit to 73-72 with 1:55 left.

After Lewis made a free throw with 24.5 seconds remaining, Akognon missed a 3-point shot with 14 seconds left. Anderson grabbed the rebound but dribbled illegally, and the Mustangs took possession with 9.7 seconds to play.

Anderson then fouled Keeler, who made a free throw with 7.2 seconds to go. Akognon's off-balance 3-point shot fell short with one second left.
