Some star-studded onlookers at Miami practices

CORAL GABLES, Fla. -- Miami football practices are closed to the public. Unless, of course, the public is Bill Parcells and Alex Rodriguez.

The 14th-ranked Hurricanes had some star power at their final two workouts at their home facility this season. Rodriguez -- the third baseman for the World Series champion New York Yankees, and whose name adorns the adjacent baseball stadium on Miami's campus -- watched practice Tuesday. He works out at the school regularly during his offseason.

Parcells, the Miami Dolphins' executive vice president of football operations, was there for Wednesday's workout, joined by Dolphins general manager Jeff Ireland.

Miami center A.J. Trump says "the past couple days have been awesome."
