RALEIGH, N.C. -- The Carolina Hurricanes assigned defensemen
Casey Borer and Brett Carson to their AHL affiliate in Albany on
Friday, trimming the roster to 23 players before their final
preseason game against Columbus.
The 22-year-old Borer had a goal and an assist and a plus-minus
rating of plus-three in three preseason games. He was taken by
Carolina in the third round of the 2004 draft out of St. Cloud
State.
Carson, a 21-year-old picked by the Hurricanes in the fourth
round in 2004, didn't score in four preseason games.
