Jiles, Clark commit to Washington State

Washington State landed a pair of commitments in from Pittsburg, Calif. teammates Robert Jiles and Tracy Clark over the weekend. Both players visited Pullman earlier this month.

Jiles is a talented player, playmaking receiver with good speed and toughness, while Clark is a lock down cornerback.

"I think Washington State is a very good fit for both kids," Pittsburg coach Victor Galli said. "Washington State really recruited both players hard and made both kids a high priority and they appreciated that.

"There were a handful of other schools that were recruiting them, but both kids like the Pac-10 a lot and at Washington State, both are excited about the opportunity to play early. They had great visits to Washington State and felt comfortable with the campus, the city and the coaches."

According to Galli, both players are nowhere near reaching their full potential.

"I think both kids have great upside," Galli said. "Robert is very athletic and has all the tools you're looking for in a college receiver. He can run, has good hands, he's tough going over the middle and he runs very well after the catch.

"Tracy is a pure shutdown corner and can lock people up. He plays with an attitude and a chip on his shoulder. He's very physical and can play the run and the pass. He can run with anyone but he'll come up and hit you as well. Washington State got a couple of good ones for sure here."
