Riley excited about UA game

Athlete Dietrich Riley (La Canada, Calif./St. Francis) received good news earlier in the week when he was selected to play in the Under Armour All-American game in Orlando, Fla., Jan. 2.

"Man, I'm really exited, that's the game I always wanted to play in," Riley said. "Hopefully they can hold No. 4 for me, but it's definitely a huge honor and I can't wait to get out there and compete with the other top players in the country."

On the recruiting front, Riley has taken official visits to Tennessee and Notre Dame and has official trip dates set with Florida (Nov. 28) and USC (Dec. 13).

"I still haven't decided on a fifth visit yet," Riley said. "I'm looking at UCLA, Cal, Washington or Michigan for that last visit and I'll be taking it after the season is over, so I'm not in a super big rush to set it. I'm just going to take my time and figure it out later."

Vainuku still waiting on visits

Soma Vainuku (Eureka, Calif./Eureka) is a talented two-way player with the ability to play fullback or linebacker at the college level. He has a short list of schools he's hoping to visit, but hasn't set up any official dates just yet.

"I have six schools on my list," Vainuku said. "Right now, I just want to focus on my season but once we're done, that's when I plan to take all my trips. I'm currently looking at USC, Washington, Oregon State, Hawaii, San Diego State and Arizona State.

"All of them have offered except USC. They're saying they like me a lot, but just want to make sure I'm doing good in the classroom before offering. I know that's six schools for five visits so my visit to SDSU will be an unofficial and I'll do officials to the other five."
