NEW YORK -- Starship Angel rallied to beat McVictory by one length Friday in the $45,000 allowance feature for fillies and mares at Aqueduct.
Eighth in the early stages following a poor break, Starship Angel and jockey Rosie Napravnik closed with a four-wide move on the turn and gained the lead in midstretch. The 4-year-old trained by Kiaran McLaughlin ran the one mile in 1:40.64 for her second straight win, and fourth in 11 career starts.
Starship Angel paid $7, $4.30 and $3.60. McVictory returned $4.50 and $2.90. Judge Margaret paid $7.30.
