Ireland vs. Australia: How to watch, kick-off time, team news

Rugby

Ireland returned to winning ways last weekend as they beat Japan in Dublin and now they look to take Australia down.

Andy Farrell's side were beaten 26-13 by New Zealand in Chicago in week one of their Autumn campaign and he will be desperate for them to end the series strongly, with the Wallabies and then world champions South Africa coming to Dublin in the next fortnight.

Australia are reeling from a 26-19 defeat to Italy, a team they have not beaten since 2018, which followed a 25-7 loss to England at Twickenham.

It has been a far from perfect start to the autumn for either side, which should make for compelling viewing at the Aviva Stadium. Here's everything you need to know.

- Overreactions: England to beat All Blacks? Wales set for miserable autumn?
- Wales vs. Argentina: Steve Tandy era begins with record defeat
- Autumn internationals: Wales' Jac Morgan ruled out with dislocated shoulder

When is Ireland v Australia?

The match will kick off at 8.10 p.m. GMT on Saturday, Nov. 15 at Aviva Stadium. That will be at 7.10am in Australia (AEDT).

Where will the match be broadcast?

Ireland vs. Australia will be televised on TNT Sports and discovery+ in the UK. The match will also be available on BBC Radio Ulster and BBC Sounds. It will also be broadcast on Stan Sport in Australia, Sky Sport in New Zealand and SuperSport in South Africa.

When was the last time Ireland and Australia met?

While many of the Ireland team were down under as part of the Lions squad that won 2-1 in Australia, the two sides met as Ireland and Australia last November.

It was a tightly-fought, gritty affair, as so many of the matches between these two sides are, with Ireland winning 22-19.

Australia's last win came back in 2018 in Brisbane, while the last time the winning margin was more than 10 points was back in 2013.

Team news

Ireland boss Andy Farrell has selected Mack Hansen at full-back and Sam Prendergast at fly-half.

Australia-born Hansen, who is available following a foot issue, replaces the injured Jamie Osborne and will wear the No. 15 jersey for the first time at international level.

Prendergast is poised for his maiden start of the autumn after providing back-up for Jack Crowley in Ireland's 26-13 defeat to New Zealand and last weekend's 41-10 victory over Japan.

Prop Paddy McCarthy has been handed a first Test start following his debut against the All Blacks and try-scoring cameo against the Brave Blossoms.

Stuart McCloskey returns at inside centre after overcoming the groin problem he sustained against the Kiwis in Chicago but Josh van der Flier and Garry Ringrose, who have been nursing hamstring injuries, miss out.

Head coach Farrell has made a total of nine personnel changes to the team which began against Japan.

Ireland: Mack Hansen, Tommy O'Brien, Robbie Henshaw, Stuart McCloskey, James Lowe, Sam Prendergast, Jamison Gibson-Park, Paddy McCarthy, Dan Sheehan, Tadhg Furlong, James Ryan, Tadhg Beirne, Ryan Baird, Caelan Doris (captain), Jack Conan.

Replacements: Rónan Kelleher, Andrew Porter, Thomas Clarkson, Nick Timoney, Cian Prendergast, Craig Casey, Jack Crowley, Bundee Aki.

Wallabies coach Joe Schmidt has meanwhile made yet another change at No. 10, with James O'Connor replacing Carter Gordon at fly-half. Gordon aggravated a quad complaint in the loss to Italy, with O'Connor getting the nod ahead of Tane Edmed.

There are three further changes to the backline, headed by Len Ikitau's return at inside centre, while Mac Jorgensen and Filipo Daugunu come into the back three at fullback and right wing respectively.

Up front, Tom Hooper shifts to lock to accommodate Rob Valetini, while Allan Alaalatoa has replaced Taniela Tupou at tighthead prop.

Australia: Max Jorgensen, Filipo Daugunu, Joseph-Aukuso Suaalii, Len Ikitau, Harry Potter, James O'Connor, Jake Gordon, Harry Wilson (captain), Fraser McReight, Rob Valetini, Tom Hooper, Jeremy Williams, Allan Alaalatoa, Matt Faessler, Angus Bell.

Replacements: Billy Pollard, Tom Robertson, Zane Nonggorr, Nick Frost, Carlo Tizzano, Ryan Lonergan, Tane Edmed, Andrew Kellaway.
