The Sharks continued their unbeaten run in the 2018 Currie Cup when they beat the Pumas 28-12 in Durban on Friday night.
It was a scrappy affair at Kings Park, largely thanks to rain which fell consistently for the majority of the match, making handling difficult.
However, the wet weather didn't stop the Sharks from securing another Bonus point as they scored four tries -- three in the second half.
Their only first half try was the first of the match when Robert du Preez grubbered through from close range for outside Jeremy Ward to simply dive on the bouncing ball to score.
The travelling Pumas struggled to get on the board for most of the first half, but managed to strike twice just before half time to take a 12-7 lead at the break.
First, Ruwellyn Isbell dived over in the corner after a sustained period of attack.
Then, two minutes later and after the half time hooter, Le Roux Roets drove over from close range after the Sharks were unable to deal with a Stefan Ungerer kick in their twenty-two.
It was then purely on-way traffic in the second half as the Sharks scored three tries to complete their third consecutive bonus point and kept the visitors scoreless.
Prop Juan Schoeman setup Johan Deysel early in the second half, before Aphelele Fassi stole the show.
The young outside back, who was making his first Currie Cup start, came off his wing to snatch Robert du Preez's cross kick from between two defenders and sprint away to score in the corner.
He had a hand in the Sharks' final try as well, when he kicked the ball up-field after the hosts won a turnover. There was no one at home for the Pumas and Curwin Bosch had too much pace for the chasing defenders and went over the line untouched.
The Pumas will travel to Pretoria to take on the Bulls next week, while the Shraks will enjoy a well-earned bye week.
