Cheslin Kolbe scored his second successive Super Rugby hat trick in the Stormers' 52-15 victory over the Sunwolves in a scrappy encounter at Newlands in Cape Town.
The pint-sized winger opened the scoring for the home side, before adding two more scores later on in the match. Kolbe has now scored eight tries this season, following his three scores against the Cheetahs in Bloemfontein last week.
But the match as a whole was rather scrappy, as both teams really had nothing to play for. The Stormers have already qualified for the playoffs, while the hapless Sunwolves are seemingly going through the motions after also conceding 94 points against the Lions in their previous match.
The Japanese side found themselves down to 14 men in the fourth minute of the Stormers clash when centre Derek Carpenter was carded for tackling a player high and without the ball. Four minutes later Kolbe scored his first try after latching onto a grubber kick by captain Siya Kolisi.
The Sunwolves opened their account with a Yu Tamura penalty in the 11th minute, but the Stormers scored their second try soon afterwards through centre EW Viljoen.
The home side looked a bit lethargic on the on night, and Teruya profited from some diabolical defending to score his side's their first try of the night in the 20th minute. However, Stormers left wing Seabelo Senatla had the last say of the first half when he rounded off after a lovely break by Dillyn Leyds.
The Stormers' 19-10 halftime lead was soon stretched to 26-10 in the 46th minute when young flyhalf Damian Willemse should some neat stepping and pace to score. But the Sunwolves would close the cap three minutes later when hooker Takeshi Hino went over the line.
The Stormers stepped on the gas just before the hour mark, and Leyds was finally rewarded for his enterprising play throughout the night with tries in the 58th and 67th minutes of the clash.
Kolbe then rounded off the evening with his the two tries, profiting from the Sunwolves' mistakes.
