Match Commentary

81'47-26 End of second half
80'Thanks for your company tonight. Stay across ESPN for all the post-match fallout and build-up to next week's deciding game in Auckland!
80'
80'That's fulltime, what a win for the Wallabies. We have a live Bledisloe Test in Auckland next week.
80'47-26 Conversion - Matt Toomua , Australia
79'45-26 Try - Kurtley Beale , Australia
78'Try time Australia! That's it, there'll be no miracle comeback tonight as Kurtley Beale cuts back on the angle and scores under the sticks!
76'Substitute on - Luke Jones , Australia
76'Player substituted - Izack Rodda , Australia
75'Scrum New Zealand. This game is getting crazier by the minute, both teams are exhausted but are still playing at a rapid tempo. The All Blacks again threatened to open the Wallabies up, the hosts saved only by a tireless Michael Hooper who gets back and dives on a loose Ardie Savea offload.
73'Penalty New Zealand. The All Blacks aren't giving up at all, and get a penalty for offside. They take the quick tap and look to catch the Wallabies napping.
72'40-26 Conversion - Richie Mo'unga , New Zealand
71'Wow. The All Blacks hit straight back! It's not going to have any effect on the result you wouldn't think, but the All Blacks strike from the restart as Ngani Laumape picks up the tapdown from Kieran Read and runs 40 metres to score untouched!
71'Player substituted - Sam Whitelock , New Zealand
71'Substitute on - Matt Todd , New Zealand
71'40-24 Try - Ngani Laumape , New Zealand
71'Substitute on - Tom Banks , Australia
71'Player substituted - Samu Kerevi , Australia
71'40-19 Conversion - Matt Toomua , Australia
69'38-19 Try - Reece Hodge , Australia
69'Substitute on - Will Genia , Australia
69'Player substituted - Nic White , Australia
68'Try time Australia! The Wallabies don't have to wait long for another five-point however as Reece Hodge gets his second try after a great long pass from James O'Connor. The Wallabies forwards set the platform and then the backs finished it off; Hodge just had to step back inside to beat a covering Rieko Ioane.
67'Wow what an incredible sequence that was! After the All Blacks had enjoyed a strong sequence, they kicked through to the Wallabies goal-line. nic White had to play at the ball, the scrum-half passing to Beale who then went on a run downfield and almost sparked the ultimate long-range try.
65'The Wallabies clear to touch after the All Blacks kick deep into the hosts' 22. The visitors couldn't find a way through the Wallabies on that occasion, though Beauden Barrett is starting to come into the game more and more.
64'Substitute on - George Bridge , New Zealand
64'Player substituted - Ben Smith , New Zealand
64'Substitute on - Matt Toomua , Australia
64'Player substituted - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
64'Player substituted - Scott Sio , Australia
64'Substitute on - James Slipper , Australia
64'Player substituted - Tolu Latu , Australia
64'Substitute on - Folau Fainga'a , Australia
63'Leali'ifano lands the conversion and it's the Wallabies leading 33-19 with 17 minutes to play.
63'33-19 Conversion - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
62'Try time Australia! Marika Koroibete picks and goes from close range after a powerful build-up from the Wallabies, the winger touching down next to the left upright.
62'31-19 Try - Marika Koroibete , Australia
62'Substitute on - TJ Perenara , New Zealand
62'Player substituted - Aaron Smith , New Zealand
60'Penalty Australia. The Wallabies repel a New Zealand attack with Taniela Tupou eventually getting a turnover at the breakdown. They then get the decision from Garces a couple of phases later as Anton Lienert-Brown is ruled to be off his feet at the breakdown.
58'Scrum New Zealand. After clearing form the kick-off, the All Blacks match up well in defence and force a knock-on from James O'Connor. The Wallabies need to be careful here, they need to continue to work through the middle and not go wide too early.
56'Player substituted - Allan Alaalatoa , Australia
56'Substitute on - Taniela Tupou , Australia
56'Player substituted - Dane Coles , New Zealand
56'Substitute on - Codie Taylor , New Zealand
56'Substitute on - Adam Coleman , Australia
56'Player substituted - Rory Arnold , Australia
56'26-19 Conversion - Richie Mo'unga , New Zealand
55'Mo'unga adds the extras and the visitors are still in this. All 14 players were involved in that effort, before Barrett simply put on the gas and caught a couple of tired Wallabies forwards out.
55'26-17 Try - Beauden Barrett , New Zealand
54'Try New Zealand. That is just brilliant ball retention from the All Blacks who string 20 phases together and eventually get the reward through Beauden Barrett.
50'Scrum New Zealand. The Wallabies make their first mistake of the second half as Kerevi tries to push a pass and it goes forward. The visitors will set the scrum just inside the Wallabies' half.
50'Substitute on - Angus Ta'avao , New Zealand
50'Player substituted - Owen Franks , New Zealand
50'Player substituted - Sam Cane , New Zealand
50'Substitute on - Patrick Tuipulotu , New Zealand
50'Player substituted - Joe Moody , New Zealand
50'Substitute on - Atu Moli , New Zealand
49'Another tough conversion attempt from Leali'ifano sails wide. This will be some sort of comeback from the All Blacks if they're able to get back into this one now.
49'It's all clear! What a run from Samu Kerevi that was to begin with. The centre broke two tackles after getting a great ball from Koroibete, Kerevi then just getting the pass back inside at the right time for Nic White to have a run and a big swan dive over.
49'26-12 Try - Nic White , Australia
48'Try time Australia! The Wallabies go bang bang, although we're going upstairs to check with the TMO first.
47'Leali'ifano hits the uprights from the touchline, meaning the Wallabies now lead by nine points.
46'21-12 Try - Lukhan Salakaia-Loto , Australia
45'Try time Australia! It had to come and the Wallabies at last get it done out wide through Lukhan Salakaia-Loto. The back-rower was seagulling out wide and got a great ball from Rory Arnold after the lock juggled but regathered the ball and then offloaded beautifully.
43'No try, it will be a five-metre scrum for Australia.
42'That's a great set of phases from Australia but they look to be held up over the line. Scott Sio was the man who worked his way over, but there looks to be some All Blacks' arms underneath it. The on-field call is no try.
41'16-12 End of first half
40'We're back underway in Perth as Leal'ifano kicks off to a now 14-man All Blacks. This is going to be an intriguing second hald, but if anyone can win with 14 men on the field it's got to be the All Blacks.
40'
40'Christian Leali'ifano kicks the penalty from right out in front and it's Australia up 16-12 at halftime.
40'16-12 Start of second half
40'16-12 Penalty goal - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
40'Red card - Scott Barrett , New Zealand
39'Incredible. That one is going to be debated for a while, but Jerome Garces was adamant Barrett's shoulder charge had met the red-card threshold; shoulder, no arms, with force, to the head or neck = a red card.
39'Red card! Scott Barrett is gone!
39'The Wallabies have a penalty here but we're going up to check for an All Blacks shoulder charge as well. Australia had worked their way to about five metres out. Scott Barrett could be in trouble here.
37'That's dumb from Ardie Savea who gives away a penalty for pushing Michael Hooper's head into the ground after the whistle. The All Blacks were going to have a scrum, now the Wallabies will attack from a lineout. Silly stuff from Savea.
36'Rieko Ioane just had a nervy moment, the winger slipping in-goal just as Koroibete was bearing down on him. The All Blacks get a 22 restart as a result.
33'It's back-to-back penalties for New Zealand here as the Wallabies are pinged at the breakdown again. They kick to touch and will attack from a lineout just inside the Wallabies' 22.
32'Penalty New Zealand. Michael Cheika won't like that after Izack Rodda gets pinged for going straight off his feet at the breakdown. The Wallabies were just starting to look threatening, too.
31'Penalty Australia. Joe Moody gets pinged for going to ground at the scrum, the Wallabies kicking to touch just outside the All Blacks' 22 as a result.
28'
28'A huge hit from Alan Alaalatoa forces Sam Cane to spill the ball, earning the Wallabies their first scrum feed of the night. The two previous set-pieces have been good even encounters.
28'13-12 Penalty goal - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
26'It's over! The Wallabies have regained the lead 13-12.
26'Penalty Australia. The Wallabies will take a shot at three points, but they looked to have butchered a try when Kerevi didn't pass to an ummarked Reece Hodge; they also had anoter shot a couple of phases later when an umarkerked Marika Koroibete didn't the ball either!
23'We'll have an Australian lineout just inside their own half after Barrett clears for the All Blacks. Richie Mo'unga had only moments earlier chipped and regathered superbly.
21'Scrum New Zealand. Australia had managed to open up some space over by the right touchline but Kerevi's pass asked too much of Hodge on the wing. The Wallabies had strung some phases together under some serious breakdown pressure from the All Blacks, but they again let themselves down with their skill execution.
19'Player substituted - Jack Goodhue , New Zealand
19'Substitute on - Ngani Laumape , New Zealand
18'Mo'unga hits the uprights, the visitors now leading by two.
17'Try time All Blacks! Rieko Ioane goes in for New Zealand despite the suspicions of a forward pass. The visitors had earlier got the ball from a Wallabies mistake, Barrett shifting the ball wide to Dane Coles who then finds Aaron Smith back on the inside. Smith then throws the final pass to Ioane. The All Blacks have gone bang, bang.
17'10-12 Try - Rieko Ioane , New Zealand
15'Scrum New Zealand. Just as the Wallabies were starting to get a bit of momentum, Isi Naisarani picks the ball up from the back of the ruck but runs into a teammate. As we wait for this scrum to set, the "All Blacks" chant goes up around Optus Stadium.
14'10-7 Conversion - Richie Mo'unga , New Zealand
13'Richie Mo'unga adds the extras and we have a three-point ball game. It may have been a tad fortunate in the end, but the All Blacks still had the players there to force the bouncing ball and earn the try.
13'The TMO gives the okay, it's a try to New Zealand!
13'10-5 Try - Anton Lienert-Brown , New Zealand
12'We're going upstairs for to check an All Blacks try, but it looks like it was okay to the naked eye. Jack Goodhue got the ball wide out and made a break, the centre dropping a kick through to chase. Read goes down with Michael Hooper who fails to ground the ball, Anton Lienert-Brown left to touch the ball down for the try.
11'10-0 Conversion - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
10'Leali'ifano adds the extras and it's Australia 10-0 after 10 minutes.
10'Try time Wallabies! Reece Hodge is over for Australia, the winger running onto a brilliant offload from James O'Connor after the All Blacks had almost had an intercept going the other way. Hodge received the pass and ran 50 metres for the opening try!
10'8-0 Try - Reece Hodge , Australia
8'Penalty Australia! Ardie Savea gets pinged straight off the kick-off for a high tackle, the back-rower will need to be careful after that careless effort.
7'It's over, the Wallabies getting a reward for their strong start. They simply had to come away with some points from that strong passage.
7'3-0 Penalty goal - Christian Leali'ifano , Australia
6'Penalty Australia. Garces pings the All Blacks at the breakdown, giving Leali'ifano the first shot at points.
5'Christian Leali'ifano makes a nice break and offloads to Hooper who in turns finds James O'Connor, but the Wallabies troops can't arrive quickly enough and Kieran Read steals the ball and the All Blacks clear.
3'Penalty New Zealand. Kieran Read wins a penalty for holding on at the breakdown, the Wallabies wasting a good early attacking opportunity. The All Blacks clear down to their own 10m line.
2'A great kick from Marika Koroibete runs down the right touchline where it's picked up by Ben Smith, he offloads to Anton Lienert-brown but the Wallabies bundle him into touch. Lineout Australia.
1'We're underway in Perth as the All Blacks kick off down to Michael Hooper. The Wallabies put together three phases before Jerome Garces finds an infringement at the breakdown and awards Australia a penalty
1'Anthems done, now here comes the haka!
1'We'll also be having a minute's silence for legendary All Black Sir Brian Lochore.
1'And here come the Wallabies, Michael Hooper bringing his team out to a big roar despite the amount of black jerseys around Optus Stadium!
1'It's the All Blacks out first, led out by their veteran skipper Kieran Read.
1'Wallabies heading off the park having completed their warm-up, the All Blacks not far behind them. They'll be into the sheds to get their jerseys on and get the final messages from the coaches, leaving us set for the pre-match formalities and the haka.
1'
1'Looks to be a fair amount of black in the crowd! There are a lot of Kiwis living in the west Australian capital, not sure it's going to feel like much of a home game for the Wallabies!
1'
1'There were a number of intriguing selection calls for this game, but none more so than James O'Connor at 13. How will the former bad boy of Australian rugby fare? He played a few games there during the recent English Premiership season, but this will be a step up against one of the best in the business in Jack Goodhue. Up front, the selection of both Ardie Savea and Sam Cane alongside Kieran Read in the All Blacks' back-row means the Wallabies will have to be right on their game at the breakdown.
1'We've just seen the Black Ferns wallop the Wallaroos in the curtain-raiser, the New Zealanders running out 47-10 winners. The two teams will meet again next week in Auckland ahead of Bledisloe II.
1'Hello and welcome to our live commentary of Bledisloe I, being played at Optus Stadium in Perth. Sam Bruce in the chair tonight as we countdown until kick-off, which is around 45 minutes away. This is the first Bledisloe Cup match to be played in Western Australia, Optus Stadium selling out in under a week when tickets went on sale last year. Stay with us as we bring you all the build-up over the next 45 minutes.
