The trade cannot and would not be processed until after June 1. But both sides are working to make it happen, and Huff already has reworked his contract to help facilitate the trade. In San Francisco, Huff will be reunited with 49ers DC Robert Saleh, his former HC with the Jets.

Two notable players missing from the Broncos' OTA practice Thursday were cornerback Pat Surtain II and defensive end John Franklin-Myers. Surtain has been in the Broncos' complex at times during the offseason program, but he was just not on the field Thursday (OTAs are voluntary). Franklin-Myers, who is in the last year of his current contract, is simply training on his own and has not stayed away because of a contract issue. The Broncos believe he will be at the mandatory minicamp next month.

Developing: The Dolphins have had trade discussions with the Pittsburgh Steelers about their lone Pro-Bowl selection last season, tight end Jonnu Smith, per league sources. Those talks came after Smith expressed an interest in reworking his deal that is scheduled to pay him $4.8 million this season. With Smith seeking a new contract, Miami has sought a trade partner. Smith’s preference, per sources, is to stay in Miami under a reworked deal.

However, with the league's owners voting to keep the play legal, Hurts' TD total moved back up to 10.5, juiced to the over at -140. Eagles RB Saquon Barkley's line moved from 10.5 at open up to 11.5, but then came back to 10.5 after the vote.
