BIRMINGHAM, England -- Three-time champion Paula Radcliffe has tonsillitis and won't run in the world half marathon championships.
Radcliffe says: "Having developed tonsillitis over the weekend, I'm now on a course of antibiotics."
Winner of the New York half marathon in August, the 35-year-old British runner missed the world championships in Berlin because she needed more time to recover from foot surgery in March.
She had targeted next weekend's race in Birmingham for a comeback.
