The narrative that Cam Newton is unfairly singled out by NFL officials lacks a necessary component: Unassailable facts. Show me a list of every instance of roughness against a quarterback this season. Then show me how many were penalized. Then show me that Newton has the highest percentage of wrongly un-penalized contact, remembering that these are judgment calls. We know there have been some missed calls involving Newton. But is he really the only one affected? I don't know. Until we have that data, this argument is about nothing but perception and anecdotes.
