Absolutely a missed call by referee Walt Coleman and crew for not penalizing the hit to Carolina QB Cam Newton's head while he was sliding feet first. That doesn't excuse Newton's reaction, but defenders are not permitted to make helmet-to-helmet contact with a sliding quarterback.
