Brisbane Heat 5 for 162 (Redmayne 59*, Harris 34, Graham 2-15) beat Perth Scorchers 103 (Devine 18, Harris 3-16, Hancock 3-19) by 59 runs

A steady unbeaten half-century from Georgia Redmayne and a brilliant cameo from Jess Jonassen has helped Brisbane Heat cruise past Perth Scorchers in Hobart.

Redmayne anchored the innings, making 59 not out from 52 balls to bat throughout the 20 overs. She put on a 68-run opening stand with Grace Harris before Sophie Devine broke the stand. But the Scorchers' bowlers put the breaks on the Heat batters during the middle overs, with Heather Graham bowling 14 dots in her four-over spell to claim 2 for 15.

Graham's second wicket came in the 19th over, which brought Jonassen to the crease with the score at 5 for 143. Devine elected to bowl the last at Jonassen and was hammered for four consecutive boundaries with the Heat captain finishing 19 not out from six balls to lift the total beyond 160.

Nicola Hancock then delivered a hammer blow with the ball when Beth Mooney holed out to point for a golden duck. Hancock also removed Devine for 18, leaving the chase in tatters. Heat's spinners strangled Scorchers' middle order, with Harris picking up 3 for 16 and Poonam Yadav claiming 2 for 15. Hancock finished with 3 for 19 as Scorchers were bowled out for 103 without a single player reaching 20. Redmayne was eventually the Player of the Match, completing four catches and a stumping to go with her half-century.
