Jain University Bangalore entered the semi-finals of the Red Bull Campus Cricket tournament after an 11-run win against Ram Lal Anand College Delhi in the third quarter-final.
Opting to bat, Jain were pegged back early by the loss of two quick wickets, but Dinesh Borwankar led the recovery with a 40-ball 46. He shared two crucial stands - 26 runs for third wicket with K Rohan and 29 runs for the sixth wicket with captain Nihal Ullal - to ensure Jain crossed the 100-mark and post a competitive 120 on the board.
RLA responded with a rapid start as captain Devender Yadav scored three boundaries in the first couple of overs, but his dismissal in the second over slowed the innings down. RLA could only manage 18 runs in the next 5.4 overs and lost two more wickets. Amit Beru and Vishal Tiwari fought back with a 34-run stand for the fourth wicket. However, the innings collapsed once Beru was dismissed after a 34-ball 32. RLA lost their last seven wickets for 40 runs to be knocked out of the tournament. R Prabhakar accounted for three wickets while A Majid and Suchith Jagadeesh took two wickets apiece.
