Houston athletic director Mack Rhoades will be named Missouri's athletic director on Monday, according to sources. Rhoades replaces Mike Alden, who was Mizzou's AD the past 17 years. "It was his opportunity to go to an SEC school," Tilman Fertitta, chairman of the University of Houston board of regents, told Fox26 Sports in Houston. "He didn't want to pass it up." Rhoades, 49, had been AD at Houston since June 2009. He recently hired former Ohio State offensive coordinator Tom Herman as the Cougars' football coach. Last year he hired Kelvin Sampson as UH's basketball coach. Under Rhoades, Houston completed building a new on-campus football stadium and is in the process of a renovation to its basketball arena, Hofheinz Pavilion.
