Boxing results: Jaron Ennis, 'Bam' Rodriguez, Keyshawn Davis all win big

Boxing

Jaron "Boots" Ennis retained his IBF welterweight title with a unanimous-decision victory against Karen Chukhadzhian at Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Saturday, a rematch of their January 2023 fight.

Ennis (33-0, 29 KOs) dropped Chukhadzhian in Round 5 and won by scorecards of 119-107, 117-109 and 116-110. Ennis also defeated Chukhadzhian by unanimous decision in the first fight, where Ennis won every round on all three judges' scorecards.

Chukhadzhian (24-3, 13 KOs) had won three consecutive fights since the loss to Ennis, including a unanimous decision over Harry Scarff in May.

In the co-main event, WBC junior bantamweight champion Jesse "Bam" Rodriguez retained his belt with a second-round TKO of Pedro Guevara.

Rodriguez (21-0, 14 KOs), ESPN's top fighter under the age of 25, has faced -- and defeated -- some of the big names in the lower divisions, including former champions Carlos Cuadras, Srisaket Sor Rungvisai and Juan Francisco Estrada.

Guevara (42-5-1, 22 KOs) earned the title shot by defeating Andrew Moloney by majority decision to win the WBC interim belt in May.

In Bayamon, Puerto Rico, former junior welterweight champion Subriel Matias returned to the ring to stopped Roberto Ramirez in two rounds. Matias (21-2, 21 KOs), was making his first appearance since losing his IBF belt to Liam Paro in June. Ramirez (26-4-1, 19 KOs) had won three consecutive before losing to Matias.

On Friday, lightweight contender Keyshawn Davis defeated Gustavo Lemos by second-round KO in the main event of a Top Rank card at Scope Arena in Norfolk, Virginia.

Davis (12-0, 8 KOs), of Norfolk, was fighting at home for the first time since he turned professional in 2021. The 26-year-old earned his best victory to date and seems to be on his way to a title fight next year.

Lemos (29-2, 19 KOs) was trying to rebound from the first defeat of his career, a unanimous decision to Richardson Hitchins in April in his first fight outside his home country of Argentina.

Davis' two younger brothers, Keon and Kelvin, scored unanimous-decision victories on the undercard. Keon defeated Jalen Moore in his pro debut in a four-round junior middleweight fight. Junior welterweight Kelvin (14-0, 7 KOs) defeated Yeis Gabriel Solano in an eight-rounder.

Also on the card, young lightweight contender Abdullah Mason suffered two knockdowns in the first round, but recovered to stop stop Yohan Vasquez in Round 2. Mason (16-0, 14 KOs) is carrying a six-fight KO streak.
