Harvard 90, Northwestern St. 60

STANFORD, Calif. (AP) -- Harvard scored 19 of the first 23 points and breezed to a 90-60 victory over Northwestern State on Sunday in the Basketball Travelers Classic.

Andrew Pusar scored a career-high 20 points to lead the Crimson (1-2) to their first victory under coach Tommy Amaker, the former Duke All-American.

Harvard sophomore Pat Magnarelli recorded his first career double-double with 18 points and 11 rebounds. Jeremy Lin added a career-high 17 points, Evan Harris had 11 and Drew Housman 10.

Trey Gilder scored 16 to lead the Demons (0-3), off to their worst start since opening 0-7 in 2002-03. Colby Bargeman added 10.

Northwestern State missed 10 of its first 12 shots and committed nine turnovers in the first nine minutes as Harvard raced to a 33-10 lead with 6:08 remaining in the first half.

The Demons allowed at least 90 points in all three games in the tournament.

Harvard led at halftime, 47-24.
