The Pac-12 added a few commitments during the weekend, as California continues to roll in its recruiting efforts despite making a change in head coaches.
Sonny Dykes had several official visitors on campus and earned a commitment from four-star offensive tackle Erik Bunte (Mission Viejo, Calif./Mission Viejo). Cal also picked up a commitment from ESPN 300 wide receiver Dannon Cavil (San Antonio/James Madison) and the Golden Bears' recruiting hasn't missed a beat.
Arizona State saw its recruiting class grow during the weekend as well, as junior college center Nick Kelly (Sacramento, Calif./American River College) pledged to the Sun Devils.
On the field, Arizona verbal commitment Pierre Cormier (San Diego/Madison) stole the show during the state bowl games, as the tailback led his team to a state title with 272 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a 38-35 victory where the Warhawks were forced to dig themselves out of a 21-0 hole.
Cormier said he is comfortable in his commitment to Arizona and that will be his final official visit, on Jan. 25. But he will also take a January official visit to UCLA, a school he came close to committing to early in the process.
