Recruit and return: Louisville Cardinals

To return to the NCAA tournament, a team needs contributions from both returning players and incoming recruits. Here's a look at Louisville and its chances of dancing again in 2016.

Quick references:

2014-15 roster

2015 recruiting

Possible 2015-16 starting five

G: Quentin Snider

G: Terry Rozier

F: Deng Adel

F: Anas Mahmoud

C: Chinanu Onuaku

Who is lost: Wayne Blackshear will graduate. He averaged double-figure points this season and has been solid. Montrezl Harrell played his best when attacking the rim and hitting the boards. He has played himself into being a mid-first-round pick and coach Rick Pitino should plan to be without him next season. That's two major losses in terms of playing experience and star power.

Who is added: Three ESPN 100 performers lead the way with their athleticism, positional size and finishing skill. This group brings length, speed and bounce to accumulate deflections that Pitino emphasizes in his defense. Adel (No. 31) is a two-way player with the skill to score and Donovan Mitchell (No.43) will be one of the most explosive players on the roster as he scores with strong drives and a streaky jumper. Raymond Spalding (No. 54) is more prospect than player right now. When he adds muscle and learns how to use his frame and skill both inside and out, he will impress. The Cardinals needed an outside, knock-down shooter and added four-star Ryan McMahon, who specializes in long-distance jumpers.

What it means for next season: This Louisville team was young as the only upperclassmen on the roster were Blackshear and Harrell, so we should see a lot of growth from this team next season. The frontcourt has more question marks than answers right now as most big men take longer to develop and mature on the court. Pitino is one of the best coaches in the country in player development, and there is plenty of size to work with. Anas Mahmoud is skilled, Mangok Mathiang is a shot-blocker, and Spalding could crack the lineup with his sheer talent if he makes progress. Onuaku was the most steady and consistent big man outside of Harrell for the Cards. The heart and soul of this team will be Terry Rozier, as he will be battle-tested and ready to lead.

Trending: Up. Even with the loss of Harrell, this team will be deeper and could be better if the frontcourt can improve. The progress of the freshman class will be vital for a top-20 season.
